PHANTOMfuse is a virtual file system for Vision Research high-speed cameras such as the Phantom Flex4K®. It automatically detects plugged CineMags® and mounts them as external storage device.
This allows you to use established media acquisition and data management workflows like Pomfort Silverstack and opens new possibilites like accessing a clip in your color grading application while the CineMag is still in the camera.
Its intelligent reel counting system keeps track of multiple cameras and automatically sets industry standard reel- and clipnames. To save precious time on mag changes, it allows you to safely erase the CineMag in the CineStation®. It will also guard your back by double checking for backups before the erase.
We offer two license models. You can choose between a yearly subscription and a project license of 7 days.
For those who want to use PHANTOMfuse over a long term period. The yearly subscription is ideal for camera owners, DITs, or full time Phantom® camera operators. The license will be renewed after one year for the price of USD 399. For a company license contact our support at phantomfuse@kamerawerk.ch.
For those who need PHANTOMfuse only for a short time or a single project. This license is valid for 7 Days.
The images above demonstrate PHANTOMfuse during usage. The screen on the left hand side shows a finder window which displays the content on a CineMag. The screen on the right hand side displays the PHANTOMfuse drop-down menu, when no CineMag is connected to the computer.
Set your start reel name once per camera and let PHANTOMfuse handle the rest! PHANTOMfuse will keep track of all the high-speed cameras and will set the subsequent reel- and clip names automatically according to industry standards.
PHANTOMfuse is operating as background service and as such is almost invisible. A symbol in the macOS menu bar indicates that PHANTOMfuse is running. This symbol also gives access to all settings, including reel naming, erasing and unmounting CineMags.
When you insert a CineMag in your Cinestation, it will be mounted automatically as if it were any other external storage device. For copying files, we recommend to use professional media acquisition systems, such as Pomfort Silverstack or others.
In cooperation with these programs copying .cine files with checksum verification now finally becomes possible and we highly recommend to use it. Having this added security was in fact the major reason we created PHANTOMfuse for our internal use.
